Manchester United Holds Talk With Newcastle Over Sean Longstaff, Manchester United and Newcastle have had high-level discussions about Sean Longstaff but, according to Sky reports, no formal offer has yet been created.
The talks took place last weekend, but Sky Sports News understands that Newcastle is not interested in selling Longstaff and seeing him as a big part of their plans for the future but an offer in excess of 50million might force them to rethink.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James from Crystal Palace and Swansea have already joined the Red Devils.
Sean Longstaff was thought to be one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s top targets but a deal now looks unlikely to happen
Solskjaer was supposed to want to make an agreement for Longstaff before they began their pre-season trip in Australia, Singapore and China.
Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol claimed that talks had happened between the two clubs but Newcastle are not interested in a deal.
“Last night, Manchester United and Newcastle United had high-level discussions about Sean Longstaff,” tweeted Solhekol.
“Newcastle won’t verify that there have been discussions, but we know Newcastle categorically are not keen on selling Longstaff & stating that see him as a large aspect of their potential schemes.
” United was anticipated to create their first offer this week for Longstaff, as Solskjaer continues to reinforce his team.
Longstaff’s impressive displays in February saw him nominated for the Premier League player of the month award alongside Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk and Sadio Mane, Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero and United’s own Pogba.
It’s believed that United would offer £30m for the starlet, but after Newcastle informed them he’s not for selling, they might have to look elsewhere.
As Manchester United look to continue their policy of young, hungry talent, instead of buying star players.
